This is my tribute to the film Superman Returns. It includes all the best moments from the film surrounding Clark Kent/Superman, as well as the lovestory with Lois. Five for Fighting's Superman used.

This is the IL National Guard HQ in Sycamore IL. I was down there for work last week and happend to spot this as I drove around trying to figure out where the heck I was going (having never been there before). I stopped to take a picture. So glad I carry my digi cam at all times. :)
Written by someone on another message board: I picked up the new trade of the mini and ate it up. Knowing that they're the casulaties of Civil War already just makes it all the more bittersweet. One of my co-workers read a bit of it on her break after I finished it and she really liked it even having no prior knowledge of them whatsoever.
Her: "I like everyone but him (*points to Nova*), he's a bit of an asshole. I like the fat one (Microbe) best." Me: "Too bad because he's the only one that isn't being killed off." Her: "What the fuck? Why would they get killed off?" Me: "To prove how hardcore the new company wide event is going to be." Her: "That's stupid." Me: "Yes."
Man, i turn my back for one freakin' minute! I stopped paying attention to Marvel in Broad strokes when Onslaught attacked. I stopped paying attention to X-Men when Grant Morrison whipped out his obsession for "ugly" mutants and turned beast into Garfield. Then, the Avengers got 'Disassembled.... slowly but surely I've been lured back in bits and pieces. I heard they were bringing New Warriors back (the first time), i was overjoyed. But i saw how the art sucked, the costumes sucked, the writing was aimless, and the book was without Night Thrasher, Rage, Firestar and Justice. It was basically an excuse to make 'Nita a bitch, Nova a jerk and Speedball an idiot. Playing to all the stereotypical aspects of their personality. When it got cancelled, I breathed a sigh of relief. Then last year, I heard that they were going to bring it back AGAIN. i wasn't too enthused. I heard that Skottie Young was bringing his cartoon/graffiti style of art to the book, I was torn. While I LIKE his art, I knew that meant that the book wasn't going to be taken seriously. I was right. The premise being half Reality Show, half Scooby Doo made me want to barf. But, I read it, and MOSTLY enjoyed it. Save for the idiotic "New members", Microbe and Debrii. Save for the fact that Dwayne never took off his mask, Nita's permablue, and even though the Avengers are no more (not that they've been Avengers for quite a while) No Firestar, No Justice and again, No Rage. Now, I am lured back into Marvel, only to find that one of my favorite miswritten mutants is back in a monthly book (yay Jamie Madrox) another of my favorire misused, miswritten mutants has lost her powers (aww, poor Jubilee) and lnow I read that my favorite misused and miswritten Non-X-Non-Avenging syuperteam is gonna be killed off?!! All exept for the most useless afterthought of a member? What is this crap? It's like BEAK! Is Marvel trying to make a point of trying to FORCE us to accept useless, pointless characters? This is a travesty. This is also why Crises or no crises, I am a DC man.
... of course, i can always take solace in the notion that They will return. 2 things Marvel is good for: Bringing characters back from the dead and doing things "parallel" to DC when the big Comic Events happen. For all I know The New Warriors may be the next batch of Exiles or something.
Anyone see tonight's Smallville with Aquaman in it?!?! It was awesome. Lois Lane is beautiful, so is Lana. So now we've had a young Flash and a young Aquaman appear on the show, awesome! I want to see more. I think it would be too much to ask for a young Hal Jordan (or Kyle Raynor). We all hope for a Bruce Wayne of course. Part I loved int he episode is when Arthur said that him and Clark should start a Junior Lifeguard Association and Clark said that he's not ready to form a JLA, priceless.
Today I met Chris Claremont, you know, the guy who wrote all of your favorite X-Men stories as well as created most of your favorite X-Men characters. There was a signing at the main comic shop here on Staten Island, Jim Hanley's Universe. Was cool, only got 3 comics signed although I could've brought much more. Man, I wish I had all of the X-Men and Uncanny X-Men runs. Just thought I'd share that I got to see him in person, twas cool although I didn't really talk to him.
Now, as far as Spidey Villians go, I've always liked Sandman. I just thought he was a really cool villian and underused. I liked Venom for a while, but then the recent turn he's taken in the comics just color me unimpressed.
BUT
I am excited about this news (first leaked to me by slowsync, thanks man.)
